The chances of there being intelligent life in other galaxies is remote, especially as the moment a species evolves to be able to exploit their planet, they inevitably destroy their home by exhausting their natural resources, in a kleptocratic frenzy. Let us hope there is still some intelligent life on earth concerning the sustainability development goals.
OVERCOOKING THE PLANET
As we near the tipping point from which there is no return, the population is still growing and we are still operating diesel and petrol vehicles. Why?
The United Nations have been holding conferences for every member state to enjoin, beginning with the first Conference of the Parties (COP) 1 in 1995. The G20 are the most powerful countries with the biggest banks, so responsible for lending above the rate of interest that planet earth can afford.
Since 1995, some progress has been made to stall anthropogenic effect, but significantly less than was required to halt the earth's temperature rising dramatically, melting the ice caps at the poles, and creating deserts from arable land. We, actually, the world's stakeholders in fossil fuels and growth, rather than stability, are taking us to the brink.
That is why COP26 is so important, to firm up the Paris Agreement and Electro-Mobility Declaration from COP21 in 2015.
